Roselle Man convicted of Robbery

Last week a Union County jury convicted a Roselle man for 2nd Degree robbery stemming from a 2008 case, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Terrell Corbin DOB: 7/18/1990 was found guilty following a three-day trial before Union County Super Court Judge Robert J. Mega, according to Assistant Prosecutor Gregory Fleming, who prosecuted the case.
According to the investigation, on Sept. 14, 2008, the 25-year-old victim in the case was walking home from work on Chandler Avenue around 1 a.m, said Fleming. The victim heard footsteps behind him and upon turning around, was struck in the face and forced to the ground.
The suspect, later identified as Corbin, repeatedly hit the man until the victim was able to escape and run to his house down the block, said Fleming. As the victim tried to signal family members inside the house, Corbin again attacked the man, this time knocking out several teeth.
At that point, family members came to the victims aid and pinned Corbin to the ground until police arrived, said Fleming.
The jury took about two hours to convict Corbin. He faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on March 5.
