Task Force Investigating Elizabeth Homicide

 

Members of the Union County Homicide Task Force are investigating the shooting death of a 43-year-old man who was discovered in Elizabeth early Sunday morning.

Police were summoned to the 400 Block of Irvington Avenue in Elizabeth around 1:45a.m. on May 9, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow. There, police discovered Anthony Cook suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark in critical condition. He was pronounced dead around 2:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

This remains an active investigation and anyone with information on the death of Anthony Cook is asked to contact Union County Crimestoppers at (908) 654-TIPS or http://www.uctip.org. A reward of up to $5,000 is available for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects responsible in the death of Anthony Cook.
