Union County Land Development Standards were adopted by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders on September 23, 1999 (Ordinance # 500-99). The land development standards provide the procedures and regulations related to the review of site plans and subdivisions for land development in the County of Union pursuant to New Jersey County and Regional Planning Enabling Act, N.J.S.A. 40:27-1 et seq. as supplemented by the laws of 1968, Chapter 285, as amended, to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare.
The Union County Land Development Standards were supplemented with revised Union County Design Standards for Development adopted in 2009 by the Union County Freeholder Board as provided herein. These design standards supplement or supersede design standards/details that were included in the Land Development Standards adopted by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders in 1999. These design details are to be included in site plan and subdivision plats in accordance to the County’s Land Development Standards for development applications submitted to the County Planning Board for review and consideration.
