Passport fee changes effective July 13, 2010
Please note US Department of State has just announced new passport fees effective July 13, 2010. The new fees are $135.00 for adults, of which $110.00 must be by check or money order payable to US Department of State, and a $25.00 execution fee payable by cash, check, or money order to the County Clerk. For children, the total fee is $105.00, of which $80.00 must be by check or money order payable to US Department of State, and a $25.00 execution fee payable by cash, check, or money order to the County Clerk. COUNTY CLERK ID CARD DISCONTINUED
Effective January 1, 2010 the Union County Clerk's Office will no longer issue county
identification cards. Citizens requiring official photo ID are urged to obtain one or both of the following
documents recognized by the Federal goverment under the REAL ID guidelines: a U.S. Passport Book and/or U.S.
passport Card which can be applied for at the Union County Clerks Office in Elizabeth or Westfield. For application

Significant changes mandated by the federal government through the Department of
Homeland Security require that government issued ID's meet heightened security requirements. Under the
the REAL ID Federal guidelines, County Clerk ID cards will no longer be accepted by any Federal agency
or any other official purpose. |
