Freeholder Vice Chairman Christopher Hudak

Vice Chairman Christopher Hudak was elected in 2011 to a three year term, having been appointed to the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders in December 2010 to fill an unexpired term on the Board. He brings a wealth of governmental and non-profit management experience to the Board. This year marks his first term as Vice Chairman.
Building on this management experience, one of Hudak’s top priorities has been to enhance County-local shared services programs that enable municipalities to provide vital public services to local residents while cutting costs and managing resources more efficiently. Hudak previously served as the Chairman of the Homeland Security and is the Board’s liaison to the Union County Utilities Authority.
A lifelong resident of Linden, Hudak is a licensed insurance agent. He previously worked for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission where he managed one of New Jersey’s six Super DMV Agencies, in Rahway, where he oversaw more than 50 employees. He was responsible for the processing of more than 300,000 yearly transactions and supervised the collection of over $10 million in state revenue annually.
Hudak also served as Public Affairs Director for Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (PDFNJ) for four years. He was the primary spokesman for the organization’s public relations and legislative affairs, and served as the PDFNJ liaison to the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. He coordinated PDFNJ’s Drugs Don’t Work in New Jersey program, to help businesses establish drug-free workplace policies.
Hudak served for several years as a Chief of Staff and Director of Communications for the late former Assemblyman and State Senator Joseph S. Suliga of Linden.
Vice Chairman Hudak serves as Chairman of the Linden Democratic Committee and is a member of the New Jersey State Democratic Committee. He served as a Delegate at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. Hudak has sat on the board of the Raritan Valley Red Cross, and previously served on the Linden City Rent Leveling Board. He is a member of the Linden Knights of Columbus, a parishioner at St. John’s Church in Clark and a member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
Vice Chairman Hudak has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Kean University and is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he majored in Political Science. He is a graduate of Roselle Catholic High School. Hudak and his wife Terri, reside in Linden with their daughter Catherine.
