The mission of the WIB is to develop and implement fiscal policies that succeed in matching the needs of employers to have a well-trained workforce with the needs of job seekers to attain and retain employment that leads to economic self-sufficiency. To that end, the WIB will generate policies that facilitate the linking of the Union County One-Stop with private businesses; and systems of economic development, workforce development, educational development and social welfare development.

To accomplish our mission, many public and private entities within the workforce investment system are called upon. Thus far, we have been successful in moving both workforce and economic development initiatives forward to strengthen our local areas.

The Workforce Investment Board, in its Consolidated Plan, provides a program of action for ensuring that employers and job seekers are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to remain competitive in the global economy.
