Union County Man Convicted of Sexual Assault


A Union County man was convicted last week of sexual assault on a child, announced Union County First Assistant Prosecutor Albert Cernadas, Jr.

Larry Dedmon, formerly of Roselle was convicted of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault on a then 8-year-old girl between September 2009 and March 2011, said Assistant Prosecutor Melissa A. Spagnoli of the Special Victims Unit, who prosecuted the case. Dedmon was found guilty following a two week trial in Union County Superior Court.

Dedmon, DOB: 9/3/1951 faces up to 10 years in jail when he is sentenced on May 17, 2013 before Judge Joseph Donohue. Dedmon must also register under Megan’s Law and will be placed on parole supervision for life.
