The Union County Homicide Task Force is investigating the Sunday evening shooting of an Elizabeth man who remains in critical condition at University Hospital, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

The 20-year-old victim was shot while inside a vehicle near the area of North Broad Street and Fairmount Avenue, said Romankow. The shooting occurred around 8 p.m.

The circumstances around the shooting are under investigation and no arrests have been made, said Romankow. This remains an active investigation by the Task Force and the Elizabeth Police Department.
