Summit Junior League’s Larks Perform Annual Concert at Runnells Specialized Hospital

Freeholder Vernell Wright (far right) welcomes the Larks singing group to their annual concert at Runnells Specialized Hospital of Union County.

The Larks, a longtime singing troupe from the Summit Junior League, recently performed its annual concert for patients at Runnells Specialized Hospital of Union County in Berkeley Heights.

The group performed two shows mixing Broadway show tunes, patriotic songs and a wide range of “oldies.”

Union County Freeholder Vernell Wright welcomed the Larks to Runnells Hospital and thanked them for their ongoing support of the patients at Runnells.

“I am so impressed with people from Union County who come in here and share their talent,” Freeholder Wright told the audience.  “When you see the faces of the patients, you know how much they are enjoying the show.  I am thankful to all of the groups that come here, and especially the Larks who have been coming here for so many years.”

The Larks perform at hospitals, nursing homes and senior citizen sites throughout Union County and surrounding areas.  They are part of more than 500 women who are members of the Summit Junior League.  The League raises funds and supervisors projects aimed at helping women in the area.

Runnells Specialized Hospital of Union County has been serving the residents of Union County and surrounding areas for more than 100 years.  It is a unique state-of-the-art nursing care facility operated by the County of Union.
