On December 13, Summit High School skated to a third place finish in the 24th annual George Cron Holiday Hockey Tournament presented by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Eight New Jersey high school hockey teams competed for the championship in this year’s tournament held at the Warinanco Ice Skating Center in Roselle. Visiting teams from Morris Knolls High School and Mendham High School captured first and second place in the tournament. In addition to special events like the Cron Hockey Tournament, the Warinanco Ice Skating Center offers skating lessons, hockey clinics and general public ice skating sessions. Skate rentals, a pro shop and a snack bar are available on site. For ice skating times and information call (908) 298-7850 or visit Union County’s website on-line at www.ucnj.org. The Warinanco Ice Skating Center is a facility of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders. |
