It was one of several coats that were donated for the popular event by the American HealthCare Apparel Traveling Clothes Store of Pennsylvania.

The selection of items to choose from at the annual “Tricky Tray” at RUNNELLS Specialized Hospital of Union County was huge. Prizes to win included gift baskets, meals at area restaurants, toys for young children, handmade items, winter coats, shopping at supermarkets and of course, chocolate.

“Hospital residents are not charged for participating in this popular annual event,” said Union County Freeholder Chester Holmes, “and we still rose over $800 from the participation of staff, volunteers and visitors. Some of the funds have already been used to buy pizza for the winners of a unit bingo game and additional funds will be used to take residents out to lunch.”

Other popular annual events at RUNNELLS include the St. Patrick’s Day Party, Monte Carlo Casino Day and the Senior Prom.

The facility, which has a number of features that are "state of the art" and extraordinary for this type of facility include: personal care centers, a nondenominational chapel and pastoral offices, added to private, landscaped courtyards for patient use, that are handicapped accessible and offer privacy for family visits.

Anyone who would like additional information about other programs at RUNNELLS may call 908-771-5848.
