Union County to Host Recycling Seminar for Businesses

Union- Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced today that Union County will host a Business Recycling Seminar Thursday, May 17, from 8am to 11am at Kean University in Union.  The cost of registration is $10 which includes a continental breakfast.

Union County businesses, schools and other institutions are invited to participate in this informative seminar.  The seminar will focus on ways to better manage waste by recycling more and disposing of less.

“Union County is striving to promote and increase recycling activity,” said Freeholder Chairwoman Bette Jane Kowalski. “However, it will require a concerted effort from everyone, including the business community.”

The program will educate businesses regarding recycling mandates in Union County and emphasize cost effective ways to implement recycling.  Markets for paper, cardboard and steel are at all time highs and other venues exist to recycle shrink wrap and polystyrene at little or no cost.

All conference registrants will receive a free CD containing Union County’s new recycling markets directory!

For more information or to register for the seminar, contact the Union County Bureau of Planning and Recycling at 908-654-9890 or visit www.ucrecycling2007.com.
