Union County Pools Open for Summer Swimming

The Union County Department of Parks, Recreation and Facilities announces the opening of the county’s two public swimming pools. The Walter E. Ulrich Pool located in Rahway River Park, Rahway, will be open for the season from June 23rd through Labor Day, Sept. 3rd. The John Russell Wheeler Pool located in Wheeler Park, Linden, will be open for the season from June 25th through August 17th. 

Group swimming lessons will be held at Ulrich Pool beginning July 2nd. Applications are available at either pool office for all ages, beginner through adults. Pre-registration is required.

Open Swim sessions for Seniors and for People with Disabilities are held at Ulrich Pool on Mondays from 6-8 p.m. and at Wheeler Pool on Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-12 noon. Admission to these special sessions is free.
