RUNNELLS residents Rose Falzone and Daniel Carine, both formerly of Elizabeth enjoyed a few moments with Union County Freeholder Chairwoman
Bette Jane Kowalski (center) at one of the facility’s Candlelight Dinners.

Seasonal decorations, good food, entertainment and good companionship make the candlelight dinners at RUNNELLS Specialized Hospital of Union County so wonderful. Each season of the year features its own candlelight dinner giving residents another opportunity to celebrate together.

“I’d like to thank the individual volunteers and groups who assist at our social events serving the residents and patients,” said Union County Freeholder Chester Holmes, RUNNELLS liaison. “It is important to stress that volunteers help to make many activities possible.”

Some of the groups that have given of themselves at the candlelight dinners this past year are the Roselle AARP Chapter #5293 and the Plainfield Shut-In Council.

Annual RUNNELLS activities include a Mardi Gras party; Monte Carlo Casino Day; “Senior” Prom; barbecues and a Halloween celebration.

“Family members and friends are encouraged to attend many of these special events with the facility’s residents and patients,” added Freeholder Holmes.

RUNNELLS Hospital is at 40 Watchung Way, Berkeley Heights. Anyone who wants to learn more about RUNNELLS may call 908-771-5901.
