Alyssa and Claire at Watchung Stable

Claire Gaeckle, an instructor at Watchung Stable in Mountainside, gives 14-year-old Alyssa Fortune of Summit and her horse Polo a blue ribbon award after Alyssa’s beginner horse show on June 14th. Claire Gaeckle, a Summit resident, was recently presented with a laudatory resolution from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders to honor her for 50 years of service to Watchung Stable. Alyssa, just completing ten weeks of classes, joins 500 other children who partake in the Watchung Stable spring and fall Mounted Troop program each year. Watchung Stable, a facility of the Union County Department of Parks, Recreation and Facilities, is administered by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
