MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – The Peppermint Playhouse Puppeteers will perform their fun-filled environmental puppet show, “Happy Earth Day, Zapman!” at Trailside Nature & Science Center’s newly renovated Visitor Center on Wednesday, July 25, at 1:30 p.m. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to announce that The New Jersey Clean Communities Act is funding this educational, full-stage production in Trailside’s air-conditioned auditorium. The show is an exciting adventure story that features a cast of lovable, zany puppets, actors, upbeat music and lots of audience participation. The Puppeteers strive to make learning a fun experience. Interwoven in this delightful tale of Super Hero Zapman’s past is information about recycling, litter reduction and storm drain protection. Some audience members will even be called upon to act with the puppets! “Established in 1977, the Peppermint Playhouse Puppeteers have performed their entertaining programs in hundreds of schools, community centers, fairs, malls and libraries,” said Freeholder Chairwoman Bette Jane Kowalski. “We’re happy to include their educational puppet show in Trailside’s summer matinee series.” Admission is $4 per person and the show is recommended for families with children ages 4 and older. No infants or babies in strollers are allowed in the auditorium. Tickets will go on sale 15 minutes before each show. Call Trailside for information regarding group rates. |
