UNION COUNTY TO REMEMBER THOSE LOST |
|
Families of the 60 Union County residents who lost their lives in the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001, are invited to light a candle in their memory on the 6th anniversary of the attacks. On Tuesday, September 11 from 6 pm-8pm at the September 11th Memorial in Echo Lake Park, Mountainside, candles will be available for families to light in memory of their loved ones. Flowers and other memorabilia may also be displayed. “This time will be set aside for quiet reflection,” said Union County Freeholder Chairwoman Bette Jane Kowalski. “There will be no ceremonies, no speeches. This will be a time to quietly remember those we lost that day.” During this time the September 11th Memorial will remain open to the general public as well. |
