Monte Carlo Casino Day at Runnells Specialized Hospital

RUNNELLS - Casino Day
It was all in fun at RUNNELLS Hospital’s Monte Carlo Casino Day. Players used their skills and trusted their luck as they played games that included black jack and wheel of fortune. The top three winners with their boxes of prizes were (left to right): Gertrude Hayeck, formerly of Cranford, third place; Maryann Sodano, formerly of Madison, second place and Helen Paul, formerly of Roselle, first place.

The horses were running at the far end of the room while the roulette wheel spun, the craps table sizzled and the high low table never seemed to have enough chairs. These were just a few of the games at the exciting, annual Monte Carlo Casino Day at RUNNELLS Specialized Hospital of Union County, 40 Watchung Way, Berkeley Heights.

“The Activities Therapy Department’s staff did an excellent job coordinating this event which was fun and one of many chances for social interaction at RUNNELLS,” said Union County Freeholder Chester Holmes, RUNNELLS liaison.  “Activities are as diverse as going to Union County’s Summer Arts Festival concerts and fishing trips to Candlelight Dinners and baseball games.”

If you’d like to volunteer call the Office of Volunteer Services at 908-771-5847. Anyone who would like to donate new or gently used prizes for bingo or other activities call the Activities Therapy Department at 908-771-5848.
