Marian Connolly (left) presented gifts on behalf of the AARP of Clark Chapter #3733 and the Runnells Volunteers of Westfield to Patricia Scott, AD of Union (right), Director of Volunteer Services and Activities Therapy for RUNNELLS Specialized Hospital of Union County.

The Clark AARP, which has contributed to the patients and residents of RUNNELLS Hospital for 12 years, donated lap robes, jewelry to be used as bingo prizes and tote bags for use on wheelchairs. The RUNNELLS Volunteers of Westfield, 10-year contributors, donated handmade picture frames, and birthday cards, both purchased and handmade.

“Pat Scott said that after Marion Connolly had her photo taken with the generous gifts from the two groups, women stopped by to admire the handmade lap robes and to say thanks on behalf of their loved ones,” said Union County Freeholder Chester Holmes, RUNNELLS liaison. “One woman told them that the lap robes made her loved one’s room look more like home. It’s always nice to know that your work is appreciated. I’d like to express my thanks to the members of AARP of Clark Chapter #3733 and the Runnells Volunteers of Westfield for their generosity on behalf of the patients and residents of RUNNELLS Hospital.”

The Volunteer Guild and the Office of Volunteer Services of RUNNELLS Hospital are always interested in recruiting volunteers, both individuals and groups. Anyone who would like further information should call the Office of Volunteer Services at
