Union County Clerk Honored by International Association of
Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers

ELIZABETH, NJ – Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi was elected to the Board of Directors, County Clerks Division, at the 36th annual conference of the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT) held recently in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ms. Rajoppi will head the Division for all County Clerks in the international association.

“It is a great honor to be elected to lead such a hard-working, dedicated group of government officials,” Ms. Rajoppi said. “I am excited by the opportunity to share and network ideas and programs with my colleagues from around the United States, Canada, and the world.”

Ms. Rajoppi has been a member of IACREOT for more than 20 years, serving on various committees. She follows in the footsteps of her predecessor, former Union County Clerk Walter Halpin, a founding member of the group in 1971 and a former president of the international organization.

“Many of our Union County programs for constituent services emerged from discussions with other IACREOT members over the years,” Ms. Rajoppi said. “It has been a tremendous learning experience to share our knowledge with each other. In addition, I know I can, at any time, e-mail or telephone another IACREOT member to share or exchange information on pending federal legislation or emerging issues. This organization is a tremendous asset for working government officials.”

Ms. Rajoppi served as the Union County Register of Deeds and Mortgages for 12 years before her election in 1995 to Union County Clerk. She is the former president of the Constitutional Officers Association of New Jersey and the New Jersey Association of Counties.
