Participants enjoyed square dancing, a barbecue dinner and many other activities at the Union County Barn Dance for People with Disabilities, held at Watchung Stable in Mountainside last month. For information about upcoming programs for people with disabilities, call 908-527-4806.

Do-si-do and away we go! The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders’ annual Barn Dance for People with Disabilities was held at Watchung Stable in Mountainside on October 7th. Non-stop music, food and fun were enjoyed by all in attendance. The County of Union would like to thank local restaurants and law enforcement officials who “kicked in” and made the day a success.

Gennaro Ortiz of the Newark Police Department made a guest appearance as Batman, complete with Batmobile, and Sheriff Ralph Froehlich provided souvenir pictures for all. A barbeque dinner was served, courtesy of Famous Dave’s BBQ of Mountainside, and it was complimented with appetizers from Chili’s of Clark, sides from Phillippos Pizzeria of Clark, and an appropriately decorated dessert was provided by Shoprite of Clark. Line dancers and free t-shirts, contributed by Colorado Café of Watchung, kept the fun going all day.
