Residents Create Mosaics at Runnells Specialized Hospital

The muses must have inspired the residents of RUNNELLS SpecializedHospital of
Union County as they worked on their mosaic project. Residents Hortense Stapleton, formerly of Plainfield (left) and Ernest Salvati, president of the facility’s Residents Council, formerly of Roselle Park (right) proudly show off the mosaics made by a group of RUNNELLS’ residents. “Irene Rousseau, an artist from Summit guided the residents through the steps needed to complete these geometric mosaics,” stated Union County Freeholder Chester Holmes, RUNNELLS liaison. “They are on display at RIUNNELLS. After all, RUNNELLS is more than a facility, it’s the residents’ home and most of us like to have artwork decorating our homes.”

Situated on a 45-acre mountain top tract of land in Berkeley Heights at 40 Watchung Way that offers breathtaking views of the Watchung Mountains, RUNNELLS is easily accessible from Routes 22, 24, and 78.
