Create Your Own Native American Beaded Pendant

Mountainside, NJ – The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to offer a craft workshop for adults, ages 18 and older, on how to make a Native American beaded pendant. The workshop will take place at Trailside Nature and Science Center on Thursday, February 7, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

“There is something very gratifying about learning a new craft and sharing the traditions of people who lived on this land before us,” said Freeholder Rick Proctor, liaison to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

Using a small loom, which will be provided, you are sure to delight in weaving a beautiful necklace pendant in the Native American tradition – a perfect gift for someone special on Valentine’s Day! Trailside park naturalist and craftswoman, Ruth Yablonsky, will conduct this engaging workshop. Bring your creative energy and take home a one-of-a-kind beaded pendant. The fee is $15 per person for residents of Union County and $20 per person for non-county participants. All materials are provided. Space is limited. Please register as soon as possible. Doors will open 15 minutes prior to the program.
