Union County healthcare professionals
invited to attend an immunization regulations symposium

Union County’s school and health department nurses and other healthcare professionals are invited to attend a symposium entitled 2008 Immunization Regulations and “You” which will be held at The Westwood, 438 North Avenue in Garwood on Thursday, May 8th. The dinner and lecture are made possible by sanofi pasteur in partnership with Union County’s Immunization Program, which is under the auspices of Runnells Specialized Hospital and the Department of Human Services.

“The Board of Chosen Freeholders wants to help those medical personnel involved in immunizations in Union County to be apprised of the latest regulatory information,” said Union County Freeholder Chester Holmes, liaison to Runnells Specialized Hospital of Union County.

The objective of the symposium is to inform school and health department nurses as well as other healthcare professionals of the new 2008 immunization requirements for school admission effective this coming September 1st and to provide an update on vaccine information for the community at large.

The evening’s program will be presented by Dr. Patricia Baron.

Two professional development hours have been granted from the New Jersey Department of Education/Office of Program Support Services.

The dinner will be at 5:30 p.m., followed by the lecture. Union County school and health department nurses and other healthcare professionals who are interested in attending should RSVP by May 2nd by contacting Deana Saba at RUNNELLS Specialized Hospital by phone at 908-771-5709, via fax at 908-771-9654 or by e-mail at dsaba@ucnj.org.
