Union County Freeholder Bette Jane Kowalski (2nd L) and Dorothea Krihak (2nd R), president of Friends of Black Brook Park, watch Abby Hosonitz of Kenilworth and Damani Dennis of Hillside prepare to plant a sapling in Black Brook Park in Kenilworth. The 7th graders were among a group of students from the David Brearley Middle School who helped plant the trees in honor of Arbor Day. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is the sponsor of the tree plantings with assistance coming from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the AmeriCorps Watershed Program, and the New Jersey Tree Foundation.
