Union County Surrogate James S. LaCorte met with Surrogates from five other New Jersey counties on May 6 in Somerville to educate people about the probate process and the benefits of a valid will. The Surrogates warned the public about exaggerated claims being made by some purveyors of Living Trusts and noted that consumers can file a grievance against unscrupulous lawyers. Pictured are: (seated, left to right) Surrogate Kevin Hoagland, Middlesex County; Surrogate Michael Dressler, Bergen County; (standing, left to right) Surrogate James S. LaCorte, Union County; Surrogate Patricia Egan Jones, Camden County; Surrogate Frank Bruno, Somerset County; and Surrogate James A. Carney, Atlantic County.
