Mountainside, NJ – The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to offer an outdoor program for adults, 18 years and older, at Trailside Nature & Science Center on Thursday evening, May 22, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Spring is a wonderful time of year to enjoy the beauty of nature. Take an informative spring evening walk with park naturalist and Master Gardener Ruth Yablonsky. Learn to identify the early season “forbs” (non-woody plants) of the Watchung Reservation and discover their fascinating history, folk lore and uses. “Enjoy the beautiful Watchung Reservation while learning some surprising things about the weeds we all tend to ignore,” said Freeholder Chairman Angel G. Estrada. The fee for this lecture is $5 per person for Union County residents and $10 per person for participants from other counties. Pre-registration is preferred as space is limited.
