School Horses Honored for Years of Service at Watchung Stable

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ –Watchung Stable school horses Polo (left) and Wilma were honored Saturday, May 24, during the 75th Anniversary Spring Troop Show for twenty combined years of service to student riders at the Union County facility. Polo and Wilma, who were purchased in 1998, have helped hundreds of children and adults learn to ride in various programs offered at Watchung Stable. The horses were presented with bouquets of carrots, donated by the Watchung Stable Auxiliary, by Alfred Faella (center), director of the Union County Department of Parks and Community Renewal. Also pictured are Watchung Stable riding instructors Cheryl DiDomenico (riding Polo), Laurie Maier, Donna McCarthy (riding Wilma), and Jude Ali. Watchung Stable, a facility of the Department of Parks and Community Renewal, is administered by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
