Elizabeth, NJ – Union County residents seeking temporary, part-time employment are invited to apply to work for the 2010 United States Census.  The pay ranges from $13 to $20 per hour.

To be eligible, residents must be 18 years old or older, pass a test, and have a valid Social Security number.  U.S. citizens will receive preference.

“Census work is a great opportunity to earn extra cash and it’s an important public service, too,” said Union County Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella.  “Statistics from the Census are used in many programs that affect our government services and legislative affairs.”

To schedule a test, call the U.S. Census Bureau regional office at 609-955-5860.  Test centers are located within Union County.
