WESTFIELD, NJ – The Union County Clerk’s office in Westfield is hosting a Passport Fair on Saturday, March 28, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications.
“Passport requirements are changing on June 1 of this year,” said Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi. “Are you ready? My office in Westfield is joining with the U.S. Department of State in celebrating ‘Passport Day in the USA’ – a national passport acceptance and outreach event.”
Beginning on June 1, U.S. citizens must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean islands and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry.
To help make “Passport Day in the USA” a fun event for travelers of all ages, special stickers with a variety of travel slogans will be available for passport customers and family members.
Ms. Rajoppi will make the passport application process more economical by waiving the normal $10 fee for having your photo taken when you apply for a passport book or passport card at the County Clerk’s office in Westfield on March 28.
Information on the cost and how to apply for a passport book and/or passport card is available at http://travel.state.gov/.
U.S. citizens may also obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778.
Passport application forms may be obtained at the County Clerk’s office annex at 300 North Avenue East in Westfield. Applications for passports and related information also can be found online at http://www.ucnj.org/ctyclerk/passport.html (PLEASE NOTE: no “period” after “html”).
