You Call The “Shots”
A symposium on children’s vaccines


Union County’s school and health department nurses are invited to attend a symposium entitled ‘You Call The “Shots” ‘ which will be held at The Westwood, 438 North Avenue in Garwood on Thursday, April 30th. The program is made possible by sanofi pasteur in partnership with Union County’s Immunization Program.

“The Board of Chosen Freeholders is very proud of Union County’s Immunization Program, located at 342 Westminster Ave. in Elizabeth, which is a joint venture of Runnells Specialized Hospital of Union County and the county’s Department of Human Services,” said Freeholder Chester Holmes.

The lecture will be presented by Barbara Sampat, MSN, RN, sanofi pasteur Vaccine Specialist and Public Health Nurse Educator for Willingboro, NJ who will discuss the important role school and health department nurses play in educating parents about keeping their children on the prescribed vaccine schedule. There will also be a comprehensive review of all mandated vaccines for children, in compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and NJ State Regulations.

Two professional development hours have been granted from the New Jersey Department of Education/Office of Program Support.

The dinner will be at 5:00 p.m., followed by the lecture.
