LEARN HOW TO HELP YOUR FAMILY ENJOY HEALTHIER MEALS

Elizabeth, NJ – A free class can help your busy family enjoy more fun, healthy meals together.  “Enriching Family Meals” is a two-hour course that provides tips for bringing kids and parents together at mealtime, along with information on the many benefits of nutritious family dinners.

Studies have shown that regular family meals are strongly related to childhood health and
well-being, and they help teens protect themselves against issues that affect many of their peers including smoking, drinking, drug use, depression, poor nutrition, eating disorders, and
poor school work.

The class is offered by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Union County with the support
of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.  It is scheduled for Thursday, April 30,
7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the County building in Westfield.  There is no fee but pre-registration is required by calling 908-654-9854.

Dr. Karen Ensle, an expert in family health and nutrition who is head of the Union County Rutgers Extension, will conduct the class.
