Spring Fling for People with Disabilities, April 26,
at Trailside Nature & Science Center
MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – On Sunday afternoon, April 26, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Parks and Community Renewal will host a “Spring Fling” for people with disabilities from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside.
Thanks to a generous donation by Parker Gardens in Scotch Plains, participants will create a springtime planting to take home. And for those interested in outdoor exploration, a Scavenger Hunt to search for signs of spring will be lead by Trailside Naturalists. The festivities will conclude with a lively performance by Comic Juggler, Will Shaw.
“This new activity on the Trailside calendar of events is a wonderful opportunity for people with disabilities, along with their relatives and friends, to learn about nature and enjoy the great outdoors in Union County,” said Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella.
Light refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon.
Pre-registration is required for this event. Admission is $10.00 per person and it covers all food, entertainment and crafts. Registration information is available by calling Margaret Heisey, Program Coordinator at 908-527-4806.
Trailside Nature and Science Center is a facility of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and is located at 452 New Providence Road, Mountainside, in the Watchung Reservation.
