Elizabeth, NJ – The Union County Office of Health Management is hosting a day of free workshops designed especially to help women improve their health and well-being. “Mind, Body and Spirit: A Day of Discovering Healthy Lifestyle Choices for Women” will be held on Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Saint Mary of The Assumption Elementary School,
237 South Broad Street, Elizabeth.

Seating is limited and pre-registration is required by contacting Natalia Munoz, Health Educator, Union County Office of Health Management, (908) 518-5620. More information is available at www.ucnj.org/lincs.

“Women are often the caregivers for their families as well as members of the workforce,” said Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella. “This is a wonderful opportunity for women to take some time to focus on their health.”

The event features a variety of fun hands-on activities that teach useful skills including a cooking demonstration taught by a personal chef, and a stress management workshop that incorporates tai chi exercises and breathing techniques. It is being held in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, in celebration of National Women’s Health Week.

National Women’s Health Week kicks off on Mother’s Day, May 10, and will be celebrated until
May 16.
