AFFORDABLE FUN FOR UNION COUNTY FAMILIES AT NEARBY CAMP
Elizabeth, NJ – A full weekend of budget-friendly family fun is just a short drive from Union County, at the beautiful New Jersey Stokes State Forest in Sussex County. The family weekend sleep-away camp is sponsored by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension “Get Moving, Get Healthy” program.
The three day/two night camp features expert instructors in wildlife, forestry, orienteering skills, hiking, natural arts, outdoor cooking, kayaking, canoeing, firearm safety, fishing, and more. Night hikes and campfires round out the fun.
The cost is practically unbeatable: just $100.00 per family of four, with $30 for each additional member. The fee covers shared cabin space for the weekend, meals, instruction, class materials, and equipment.
The camp is located at The Lindley G. Cook 4-H Center for Outdoor Education and is operated by Rutgers Cooperative Extension, supported in part by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
