THREE-DAY CAMP OFFERED FOR YOUNG UNION COUNTY SCIENCE FANS

 

Elizabeth, NJ – Union County youths in grades 5 through 8 are invited to join a three day/two night Science, Engineering, and Technology (S.E.T.) Camp sponsored by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. This unique, affordably priced sleep-away camp provides fun night-time learning adventures as well as daytime activities.

At night, campers will participate in games and activities related to astronomy, sensory awareness and natural adaptation. Daytime activities include topics like roller coaster design, oceanography, flight and shooting sports physics, environmental awareness, and field study.

The camp begins on Tuesday, June 30 and ends with a science fair on Thursday, July 2, to which parents are invited. The cost of the program is $150.00 per child.

The camp is located within easy driving distance of Union County, at The Lindley G. Cook 4-H Youth Center for Outdoor Education at Stokes State Forest, Sussex County. It is operated by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, supported in part by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
