Free Performance by “Verdict” at Echo Lake Park
Opens Union County Summer Concert Series, July 1

"verdict" at summer concert series

The Union County Summer Arts Festival 2009 concert series begins a new season on Wednesday evening, July 1, with a performance by “Verdict.” The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, led by Chairman Alexander Mirabella, invites the public to attend this free concert which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Echo Lake Park in Mountainside.

Verdict is a lively group from Neptune, New Jersey. They started playing music together in 1993, specializing in a large selection of reggae, soca and calypso music. The band has delighted audiences from Miami Beach and San Juan to the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. Verdict is one of the hottest bands in the area and they return to Echo Lake Park accompanied by international recording star and producer Roland Richards on keyboards and vocals for the opening of the Summer Arts Festival concert series.

Freeholder Chairman Mirabella urges you to “bring the entire family for an evening in the park. Pack a picnic basket, bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, and enjoy the sounds of the islands on a summer night.”

The Union County information van will be at the concert site with knowledgeable staff to answer questions and offer information about interesting programs that are available to Union County residents.

The Summer Arts Festival concerts are held throughout July and August on Wednesdays beginning at 7:30 p.m. The location of this summer’s concerts will alternate each week between Echo Lake Park in Mountainside and Oak Ridge Park in Clark.
