MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – The Union County Summer Arts Festival 2009 concert series continues on Wednesday evening, July 15, with a musical variety show performed by Joey Arminio and “The Family” at Echo Lake Park on the border of Mountainside and Westfield. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, led by Chairman Alexander Mirabella, invites the public to attend this free concert of popular songs plus original costumes and choreography which begins at 7:30 p.m.

Joey Arminio and “The Family” started as a trio playing at restaurants and Atlantic City casinos. Their musical revue included popular hits and novelty songs of the ‘50s and ‘60s, ranging from the music of Louie Prima and Keely Smith to Liza Minnelli, Connie Francis, Sonny and Cher, Buddy Holly, and the great doo wop groups. They tap danced, sang and joked with their audiences at every performance. As their popularity grew, so did the group. They come out full force and deliver an arsenal of great songs and quality entertainment.

Freeholder Chairman Mirabella urges you to “bring the entire family for an evening at Echo Lake Park. Pack a picnic basket, bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, and enjoy the musical variety and energy of these popular song and dance performers.”

The Union County information van will be at the concert site, along with representatives from the Union County Bureau of Planning and Environmental Conservation, to answer questions and offer information about interesting programs that are available to Union County residents.
