UNION COUNTY TO HOLD POW/MIA REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY

DATE, TIME: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 11:15 a.m.
PLACE: UNION COUNTY COURTHOUSE STEPS
BROAD STREET AND RAHWAY AVENUE, ELIZABETH

ELIZABETH---The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders will remember and honor the personal sacrifices of our nation’s prisoners of war and military personnel missing in action at the Union County POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony. The event will take place Friday, September 18th at 11:15 a.m. in front of the Courthouse at 2 Board Street in Elizabeth.  In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved indoors in the first floor Rotunda of the Courthouse.

“The liberties and freedoms that we enjoy in this country were paid for by the sacrifices of the men and women in our armed forces,” said Union County Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella. “It is important that we take time to say thank you to those who spent time in prison camps or who are still missing so that those sacrifices are never forgotten.”

Veterans groups from throughout the area will be in attendance and everyone is welcome to join with the Union County officials in saluting these brave men and women.
