Evening Nature Walk and Gentle Yoga Seriesat Trailside, Sept. 22, Oct. 13 & 27
MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to offer evening nature walks and gentle yoga workshops for adults, 18 years and older, as part of Trailside Nature and Science Center’s autumn workshop series. The classes are offered on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Sept. 22, Oct. 13 and/or Oct. 27.
“After enjoying a serene walk on one of the many wooded trails of the Watchung Reservation on a fall evening, the gentle yoga session will offer relaxation of body and mind,” said Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella. “These workshops are a popular addition to the other programs for adults offered at Trailside Nature and Science Center.”
Walking and yoga are two ways to use nature’s healing powers to help relieve stress and its symptoms. Soothe your senses and calm your soul on an interpretive evening stroll with a Trailside naturalist who will lead the walk and answer questions. Then relax with a meditative gentle yoga class. Yoga techniques can awaken poise and centered awareness in the midst of everyday life. This is an opportunity to learn and experience Raja yoga techniques for integrating body and mind.
Claire M. Bay, a yoga instructor certified by the Chopra Center in New York City, is returning to Trailside to teach and guide you in this new pathway of meditation. Soothing music will enhance the experience. Bringa yoga mat or pillow if you have one. Light refreshments will be served. The fee for each sessionis$10 per person for Union County residents and $15 for out-of-county participants. You are welcome to enroll in one, two or all three of the sessions.
Pre-registration is preferred as space is limited. Doors open 15 minutes prior to the event.
