Union County – The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders has announced that the Walter E. Ulrich Pool, located in Rahway River Park off St. Georges Avenue in Rahway, will be opening early this year in response to the excessive heat. The pool will be open today June 21, and tomorrow June 22 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will resume its normal operating schedule on Saturday, June 23rd.
In addition to the Ulrich Pool, Union County residents are urged to keep cool by visiting any of the following spray parks which are open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.:
• Mattano Park in Elizabeth
• Phil Rizzuto Park in Elizabeth
• Ponderosa Farm Park in Scotch Plains
• Snyder Field Park in Berkeley Heights
• Warinanco Park in Elizabeth/Roselle
