Photographs by Sara Parmigiani of Cranford on Exhibit at the Pearl Street Gallery

Union County, NJ – The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to present an exhibit of photographs by Sara Parmigiani in the gallery space at the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, located at 633 Pearl Street in Elizabeth. A selection of her work entitled “Floral Vignettes: A Study of Color and Form” is on display at the Pearl Street Gallery until August 9. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

“Ms. Parmigiani has a unique vision of nature’s ability to form brilliant colors and sharp contrasts,” said Freeholder Chairman Bette Jane Kowalski. “If you are in midtown Elizabeth, please stop by and take some time to experience these compelling images.”

Sara Parmigiani earned her Bachelor in Fine Arts at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford NJ, and a Masters in Arts for Museum Studies from Seton Hall University, South Orange NJ. She is currently the Curator of Fleetwood Camera Museum in North Plainfield and the Ballantine House Technician for the Newark Museum.

Exhibiting throughout New Jersey, Ms. Parmigiani’s recent shows include Flower Portraits, Art Space at the Warren Township Library; Universe in a Flower, Highland Park Library; Ocean Grove Gardens, North Edison Library; and a Group Show at Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Gallery. She won First Prize in the Floral Category, Ocean Grove Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Parmigiani said of her work, “One of my early interests in photography was to create images of architectural details and found objects in black and white. However, I kept going back to photographing flowers. I found that the flower images gave me the most joy. I love the vibrant colors and beautiful shapes. When photographing flowers I focus on the lines, color, and negative space within the composition.”

Union County artists (whose works can be hung on a wall) interested in exhibiting in the gallery space are welcome to apply.
