Plainfield Man Convicted on Drug Charge
A Plainfield man was found guilty in Union County Superior Court yesterday of 3rd degree drug possession, announced Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Shalid Hannah DOB: 8/29/1971 was first arrested in April 2010 on the 10 block of Everett Place by members of the Plainfield Police Department who were in the area on an unrelated investigation, said Assistant Prosecutor Joshua McMahon, who prosecuted the case.
As officers approached Hannah while he sat inside a vehicle, the defendant threw what would later be identified as nearly ½ ounce of crack cocaine from the window, said McMahon.
He convicted following two hours of deliberation. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 17, 2011 before Union County Superior Court Judge Robert J. Mega.
