Yesterday, a  Union County jury returned a verdict of guilty of first degree robbery and second degree aggravated assault against Garret Mattox.

Mattox, is a professed five star member of the bloods gang in Plainfield. On January 13, 2010, according to the investigation, Garret Mattox assaulted and robbed a victim outside the Richmond Beer Garden in Plainfield, said Assistant Prosecutor Jamel Semper who prosecuted the case.

Plainfield Officer Lawanna Burks arrested Garret Mattox two hours after the incident after observing that Mr. Mattox fit the description of the suspect and after observing the victim’s blood on Mr. Mattox’s boots.

He faces up to 30 years in prison when sentenced next year.
