For Immediate Release: November 29, 2011

A teacher from a Union Township school was arrested this morning and charged with one count of 2nd Degree Endangering the Welfare of Child and one count of 2ND Degree Sexual Assault, announced Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

David Eidel DOB: 5/27/1973 of Toms River was arrested without incident at his home earlier today by members Union County Prosecutor’s Office. The arrest came after an investigation into allegations made by two separate students – a boy and a girl – involving inappropriate touching of them by Eidel. The alleged incidents took place at the school earlier this month.

Eidel taught computer science classes at the Connecticut Farms Elementary School. Bail was set at $150,000.

These criminal charges are mere accusations.
The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
