Public Notice for Route 22 U-Turn H Auxiliary Lane

TAKE NOTICE, the Union County Department of Parks & Community Renewal has filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program, proposing to divert 0.0428 acres of Block 3407 Lot 1 located along the southern edge of Route 22 U-Turn G as part of the proposed NJDOT roadway improvement project and will hold two (2) public hearings in accordance with NJSA 40A:12-13.5 and NJAC 7:36-26.6 to obtain comments. NJDOT will provide monetary compensation to the County which the County will place in the Open Space Trust Fund, to be used to complete the Ponderosa project, located on Cooper Road, Scotch Plains, NJ.
Pursuant NJSA 40A:12-13.5 and NJAC 7:36-26.6 the public hearings will be held at the Township of Union Municipal Building, 1976 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083 on September 18, 2012 at 6:00 PM; and at the County of Union, 6th Floor Freeholders Meeting Room, 10 Elizabethtown Plaza, Elizabeth, NJ 07207 on October 9, 2012 at 7:00 PM.
All information submitted by the County of Union Department of Parks & Community Renewal to the Green Acres Program in support of this requested diversion of parkland is available for public inspection at the Township of Union Municipal Building, 1976 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083; and the Union Public Library – 1980 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083; and at the NJDEP Green Acres Program offices, 501 East State Street, 1st Floor, Trenton, NJ 08625-0420.

Public comment on this diversion request will be accepted during the public hearing or until October 9, 2012.
