Undersheriff Frank Began his law enforcement career with the New Jersey State Department of Corrections, working as a corrections officer at Rahway State Prison. The undersheriff joined the Sheriff’s office in 1987, was appointed Detective in 1995, and gained experience at various ranks working in the Courts, the Domestic Violence Unit, the Transportation Unit, the Complex Security Unit, the Fugitive Unit, and Internal Affairs. Undersheriff Frank has also served on detached service tours with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Quality of life Program and the FBI’s Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force.
As a Captain, the Undersheriff was assigned to the Administrative Division where he oversaw the Office of Professional Standards, the K9/Search and rescue Unit, was liaison to the new jersey state police central Security Unit, and was Chief Firearms Instructor, overseeing training and the firing range operations.
Currently, Undersheriff Frank oversees the Fugitive Unit, the Family Violence Unit, the transportation Unit, the S.L.A.P. Unit, the K9/Search and rescue Unit, the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and the Community Policing Unit.
