Community Education

The Community Education Program provides community outreach to increase public awareness on the Municipal Alliance program and current drug trends.

Countywide Red Ribbon Day

Countywide Red Ribbon Day is held in October and facilitated by Prevention Links, Inc.  The event includes substance abuse prevention displays and educational materials for distribution to participants, a Family Fun Run/Walk and attractions for children and adults.  This event is free and open to the public.

LACADA Volunteer Recognition

The LACADA Volunteer Recognition Dinner is an annual event that recognizes the County Alliance Volunteer of the Year and the Municipal Alliance Volunteers of the Year.

Prevention 101

Educational presentations will be implemented throughout Union County on topics related to emerging drug trends.

Medicine Drop Box Education

Project Medicine Drop is an initiative involving the installation of “prescription drug drop boxes” at participating New Jersey police departments. Project Medicine Drop allows the public to dispose of unused and expired prescription medications safely, securely, and anonymously. The opportunity is available seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Residents may deposit their medications in any of the Union County drop box locations.
