Services for LGBT Seniors
LGBT Older Adults make up 2.7 million people in the United States (Generations, 2016.) This number is expected to more than double by the year 2030. As community agencies and organizations prepare for this surge, understanding the various and specific needs of the LGBT older adults and their caregivers becomes even more essential in the provision of care and advocacy.
The Union County Division on Aging is committed to addressing the unique needs of our diverse community members through our ongoing, collaborative efforts with the nation’s leading agencies. To ensure that our work is inclusive and sensitive, we have connected with SAGE (Advocacy and Services for LGBT Seniors) and were awarded the Bronze certification. Together, we will continue to advocate for the needs of the LGBT seniors in Union County. For more information on SAGE, please visit them at www.sageusa.org.
