Roselle Park Environmental Commission

Chair, Environmental Commission:

The Roselle Park Community Garden is having another successful growing season! From cucumbers to berries, peppers to eggplants, we’ve been able to distribute well over 100lbs of fresh organic produce to residents. And our rented plots continue to reflect the enthusiasm and creativity of our Borough!

YMCA – Union Branch

The YMCA Five Points Branch in Union has welcomed us for a tour of their children’s garden!

One of the many plants being grown at this garden is mountain mint. It is referred as this as these plants often have a minty or thyme-like aroma when crushed.

Thank you for the tour!

Elmora Community Garden

Union County Commissioner Michèle Delisfort and Union County Commissioner Sergio Granados visited the Union County Community Garden in Elizabeth.

The garden has amazing fresh produce which includes eggplant!

Richmond Towers

Union County Commissioner Sergio Granados attended the Richmond Towers Harvest Party in Plainfield, where they served all the fresh produce that was grown in their local garden for a special luncheon.

Among the many dishes, there were fruit salads, corn soup, and callaloo dishes.

Thank you to all those who assisted in keeping this garden active and all who came to support and enjoy the good food. We had an amazing time!

Victor Mravlag School No. 21

Here at School 21 we have been working on our new composter bin! Many families in the area add to the bin to help our progress. Our garden has grown so much and been able to donate over 30lbs of food to our food bank.
